Community Investment
Another way Stop & Shop is giving back.
Watch to see what how Restore gives back to our communities, starting from day one.

Going above and beyond offsetting
In addition to calculating and offsetting customer tailpipe emissions, the Restore program is dedicated to giving back to the local community Stop & Shop serves. The program gives back in two main ways:

Donations, sponsorships, volunteer events, and more that nourish the community and care for the environment.

Restore gave $5,000 in donations to the following organization to aid and support greenscape and beautification projects to kick off the launch of the program:
- The Town of Berlin (Berlin, CT)
- Rhode Island Tree Council
- Dedham Public Works

Restore donated $10,000 each to 5 local hunger relief organizations. The donations will support those facing food insecurity. Additionally, Restore will calculate and offset each organization’s operational carbon emissions making them carbon neutral.
- Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen Inc. | New Haven, CT
- Waste Not Want Not Community Kitchen | Granby, CT
- The Family Pantry of Cape Cod | Harwich, MA
- The Greater Fall River Community Food Pantry | Fall River, MA
- Federal Hill House | Providence, RI

Working with national partner Arbor Day Foundation to plant 100,000 trees in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.

Most of these 100,000 trees will be planted through Tree City USA, a program that celebrates the importance of an urban tree canopy and works to grow and restore our communities for years to come! Tree Cities where trees have been planted include:
- Boston
- Amherst
- Milford
- Dedham
- Quincy

Restore has also provided native tree species to the City of Berlin's community public areas, such as Veterans Park Massiro Drive, Sage Park Suranna Drive, McGee School Norton Road, and more.
